Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Technical Program Director / Lead Systems Engineer to serve as the primary customer-facing technical authority for a premier research program at a Maryland-based customer site. This senior role combines lead systems engineering with program technical leadership to shape platform roadmaps, drive compliance initiatives, and ensure mission-ready infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Management, or related discipline.
Demonstrated senior technical leadership and customer-facing experience.
Experience in multi-domain or classified environments with compliance focus.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical interface to the customer and lead technical discussions.
Translate mission needs into actionable strategy and modernization priorities.
Own delivery outcomes: availability, performance, compliance, and platform evolution.
Lead end-to-end architecture across unclassified and classified networks.
Direct system development, integration, and certification efforts including compliance.
Oversee core infra services: compute, storage, network, identity, monitoring, backups.
Improve resiliency, incident response, and capacity planning.
Guide modernization while maintaining uptime and mission continuity.
Drive secure baselines across multi-OS environments.
Mentor cross-functional teams and ensure predictable delivery.
