Axos Bank is seeking a technically fluent, high-impact Product Owner to lead product ownership for Core Services—the engine powering all enterprise offerings across Bank, Borrow, Invest, and Plan. This is not a traditional business-facing PO role; it requires deep comfort with backend systems, APIs, data flows, and engineering trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Own the backlog for Core Services platforms including Identity, Rules Manager, Document Service, Notifications, and core banking APIs.
• Deep-dive into architecture, API contracts, data schemas, and system dependencies to write precise epics and user stories.
• Drive prioritization based on technical debt, risk, regulatory impact, and business value.
• Partner with Engineering leadership to evaluate feasibility and scalability.
• Act as single point of accountability for backlog clarity and acceptance criteria.
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning with delivery teams.
• Enforce release governance to ensure well-defined, tested features aligned with SLAs.
• Monitor production health and translate metrics into backlog priorities.
• Drive cross-team alignment across Clearing, AAS, OLB, Commercial, QA, and Infra.
• Provide executive-ready reporting on roadmap, risks, blockers, and delivery outcomes.
• Evaluate technical proposals including service isolation, caching, and API versioning.
