Job summary

Alation, Inc. in Redwood City is seeking a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager to own the technical storytelling across our core platform and AI Agent capabilities, turning insights into demos, competitive intelligence, and content for technical buyers.

You'll build self-serve demos that work for business and architecture levels, maintain defensible competitive material, and collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineers to turn field learnings into content for the wider company.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in technical product marketing, solutions engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience building and running technical demos for sales, industry analyst or field audience.
• Exposure to competitive intelligence or competitive analysis for enterprise software.
• Comfort partnering with engineering, solutions engineering, or forward-deployed technical teams.
• Strong technical communication skills, translating technical detail for broader audiences.
• Familiarity with AI agent architectures, data governance, or data intelligence platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own Alation's competitive source of truth; track, analyze, and keep content up to date.
• Join discovery calls, POCs, and engineering engagements weekly; identify customer value patterns.
• Build AI-assisted workflows to convert field signals into content with human oversight where needed.
• Create technically defensible comparisons and validate claims before field release.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing leadership to sharpen positioning with technical detail.
