Job summary

Farm Family seeks a Senior Technical Litigation Claims Specialist to join our team and work from the Omaha office. We require on-site presence five days a week to strengthen culture, teamwork, and profitability.

The role reports to the VP of P&C Claims Litigation in Albany and involves directing defense counsel, reviewing litigation strategy, and handling complex claims with advanced technical proficiency. The position focuses on negotiating lawsuits, coverage and exposure evaluation, and

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of managing litigated claims, typically from a Juris Doctor and extensive experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' managing litigated claims, including body injury experience, liability determination, settlements, and medical terminology.
• Ability to obtain necessary state licenses and maintain CE requirements.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of insurance operations and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate highly complex claims that are litigated, potentially with significant impact.
• Coordinate a litigation plan with defense counsel for cost-effective defense and insured interests.
• Handle high-severity multi-line litigation across property, liability, and other exposures.
• Attend depositions, mediations, trials, and settlements as required; travel may be involved.
• Mentor junior claims staff and present to management; contribute to training.
