Job summary

BrightWorks IT in Richmond, VA is seeking a Level 3 Technical Lead to anchor the Richmond team and own complex client escalations. You will mentor engineers and act as the primary technical contact for large accounts.

You’ll drive server migrations, security improvements, and architectural standards while delivering proactive IT services across MSP offerings. This role requires onsite work in Richmond, with regional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT support or MSP environments.
• Deep expertise in Windows Server 2016–2022 and Active Directory.
• Advanced Microsoft 365 administration including Entra ID and Intune.
• Strong networking with firewalls, VPN, VLANs.
• Proven experience leading infrastructure projects end-to-end.
• Excellent client-facing communication of technical trade-offs.
• Hands-on with ConnectWise Manage, Kaseya, Datto RMM, and ConnectWise Automate.
• PowerShell proficiency for automation.
• Willingness to work onsite in Richmond with occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Own escalations as highest technical escalation point for the Richmond team.
• Lead infrastructure projects: server deployments, migrations, and migrations.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and raise technical standards.
• Maintain client relationships as trusted technical advisor.
• Contribute to standards for Windows Server, M365, networking, and security tooling.
• Lead security incident response with SOC partner.
• Manage a complex ticket queue in ConnectWise Manage and meet SLAs.
