Job summary

BrightWorks IT is seeking a Level 3 Technical Lead to anchor the Wixom team. You will own the most complex client escalations, mentor Tier 1/2 engineers, and act as the point of contact for large, technically demanding accounts.

You will drive server migrations, network redesigns, Active Directory rebuilds, and security incident response, collaborating with our SOC partner to resolve critical issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT support, systems engineering, or MSP environments; 2+ years in senior/lead roles.
• Deep expertise in Windows Server 2016–2022, AD, DNS/DHCP, certificate services.
• Advanced Microsoft 365 administration: Exchange Online, Entra ID, CA, Intune, SharePoint, Teams.
• Strong networking background: firewalls, VLANs, VPN, routing/switching.
• Proven experience leading infrastructure projects end-to-end.
• Comfortable with client-facing conversations and technical trade-offs.
• Hands-on with RMM/PSA tooling (ConnectWise, Kaseya, Datto RMM).
• PowerShell proficiency for automation.

Responsibilities

• Own escalations as the highest technical escalation point; drive tickets to closure.
• Lead infrastructure projects: server deployments, migrations, network refreshes, backups.
• Mentor mid-level engineers; conduct tech-share sessions and improve technical standards.
• Manage relationships with key accounts; conduct quarterly reviews and roadmaps.
• Contribute to standards for Windows, M365, networking, and security tooling.
• Lead security incident response with SOC partners.
• Own the ticket queue in ConnectWise Manage with thorough documentation.
