Job summary

Aptive partners with federal agencies to deliver high‑quality documentation and technical writing services. This role focuses on editing complex government documents for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with agency standards, applying GPO and Chicago Style guidelines.

You will manage the entire document lifecycle from outline to publication, including online and web publishing, while ensuring accessibility requirements are met and security clearances are maintained.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in technical writing or documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, or related field.
• Expert-level command of the GPO Style Manual and knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance and legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Edit technical brochures, SOPs, research reports, and other highly technical documents for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with agency standards.
• Apply expert-level command of the GPO Style Manual and knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style to ensure consistency.
• Manage the full lifecycle of documents from outline through final publication, including online and web publishing.
