Job summary

Guidehouse seeks a Senior Technical Editor to support a federal client’s research communications and outreach programs in Arlington, VA. You will lead editorial review, manage publication workflows, and mentor editors and writers across a portfolio of technical reports and digital content.

You will ensure technical accuracy, accessibility compliance (Section 508), and adherence to GPO and Chicago styles, coordinating with researchers and legal reviewers to deliver publication-ready materials on

Qualifications

• Master's degree in English, Journalism, or a technical field.
• 10+ years of technical editing, publishing, or editorial experience.
• Supervisory and project management experience.
• Experience overseeing editorial staff and mentoring junior editors and writers.
• Expert knowledge of the Government Publishing Office (GPO) Style Manual.
• Knowledge of federal publishing requirements.
• Experience managing publication workflows and the full lifecycle of technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead editorial review, quality assurance, and publication management for technical materials.
• Oversee editorial process for high-visibility publications and ensure consistency across programs.
• Supervise editors and writers, providing editorial leadership and guidance.
• Perform substantive editing, copyediting, proofreading, rewriting, formatting, and fact-checking.
