Job summary

Longenecker & Associates (L&A), a Geosyntec Company, seeks a Writer (Editor 3) to edit and format Safety Basis documents for Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. The role supports DOE-wide nuclear safety documentation and requires strong editing skills with regulatory experience. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and 6–8 years’ relevant experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and document control.

U.S. Citizenship and DOE background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience editing technical or regulatory documentation; strong grammar and document structure.
• Experience working with SMEs in highly regulated environments.
• Due to federal contract security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Edit, format, and quality-check Safety Basis documents and related reports.
• Ensure documents comply with DOE orders and site requirements; improve clarity without altering technical intent.
• Prepare documents for internal reviews, manage revisions and version control.
