Job summary

G-III Apparel Group in New York City seeks a Senior Technical Designer for Ready-To-Wear/Wovens to translate design into well-constructed garments. You will lead fit sessions, develop TP and grading specs, and coordinate with Design, Product Development, and Production to keep timelines.

This role requires strong attention to detail and proactive communication. Reporting to the SVP of Production, you will work on-site five days a week in the Fashion District, NYC, with competitive compensation

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical design experience.
• College degree, or equivalent professional work experience, required.
• Proven expertise in apparel fitting, specs and patterns.
• Strong ability to manage multiple deadlines and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage product lifecycle from showroom sample through pre-production fit approval.
• Oversee pre-production samples development ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Develop comprehensive technical packages to final graded specifications and communicate corrections to vendors.
• Lead live fit sessions and provide timely fit comments to align with production timelines.
• Provide grading guidelines to vendors to preserve design integrity across sizes.
