Job summary

G-III Apparel Group in New York City seeks a Senior Technical Designer for Women’s Suits/Ready-to-Wear. You will manage product lifecycle from showroom to pre-production, lead live fit sessions, and develop technical packages to graded specifications.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in technical design, a college degree, and strong knowledge of PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and Excel. You will collaborate with Product Development, Design, and Production teams in a fast-paced fashion

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Technical Design experience, including woven dresses & blouses.
• College degree, or equivalent professional work experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Manage product lifecycle from showroom sample through pre-production fit approval.
• Oversee pre-production samples development, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Develop comprehensive technical packages, to final full graded specifications. Determine necessary corrections, utilize garment patterns effectively to achieve the desired fit, silhouette, and style.
• Lead live fit sessions to evaluate and refine fit, construction, and quality. Provide grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval.
• Partner with Product Development, Design and Production teams to ensure fit and product development stays in line with timelines.
