Job summary

The Jonus Group is seeking a highly skilled Technical Claim Manager to lead complex professional liability claims involving architects, engineers, and surveyors across a nationwide coverage area. You will manage disputes, coordinate investigations, and work with attorneys to resolve technically challenging matters.

Key duties include risk transfer work, indemnity issues, and collaboration with insureds, claimants, underwriters, and management to secure favorable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or related field.
• A Juris Doctorate with relevant insurance defense litigation experience is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant legal or insurance-related experience.
• Experience handling design professional claims under professional liability policies.
• Strong knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures affecting claims handling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage professional liability claims involving design professionals, including litigation and pre-litigation disputes.
• Conduct thorough investigations and issue appropriate coverage letters and documentation.
• Assess and analyze coverage issues and pursue risk transfer opportunities, including contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.
• Handle claims in accordance with best practices, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
• Collaborate with insureds, claimants, underwriters, and upper management to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Attend mediations and settlement conferences as necessary.
