The Crowd are excited to be partnered with a prestigious mid-sized AD100 design firm that are seeking an accomplished Senior Architect/Interior Architect with strong experience delivering large-scale luxury residential projects to join their growing New York team. With a focus on highly bespoke residential environments our client’s work is defined by a refined approach to materiality, craftsmanship, architectural detail, and storytelling.

This is a senior-level opportunity for an accomplished Technical Designer, Interior Architect, or Architect with exceptional technical expertise. You will take a leading role in the delivery of complex, high-end residential renovations and restoration projects, ensuring the highest standards of technical precision and design integrity is maintained throughout.

Working closely with senior leadership and the wider team, you will lead project workflows, oversee technical deliverables, and act as a key point of contact throughout the construction process. You will also play an important role within the studio, mentoring and managing junior designers while helping to establish and maintain best practices across technical documentation and project delivery.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background and extensive luxury residential construction experience. With teamwork and collaboration at the heart of our client’s values, equally important is the ability to communicate well at all levels, approaching complex site issues positively and collaboratively, and build strong, long-term relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical delivery and Construction Administration of complex luxury residential projects
  • Manage projects through the construction phase, ensuring the design vision and technical standards are maintained throughout
  • Conduct regular site visits acting as a key technical point of contact for contractors and consultants
  • Manage RFIs, drawings and submittals, providing clear and timely responses throughout construction
  • Lead and contribute to the development of comprehensive AutoCAD drawing packages
  • Independently lead meetings with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders
  • Clearly communicate design intent, technical solutions, project requirements, and potential challenges to both internal and external teams
  • Establish and maintain effective technical workflows and drafting best practices across the studio
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, tradespeople, and craftspeople
  • Work closely with project leadership to ensure alignment across project schedules, budgets, client expectations, and overall delivery
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and supportive studio culture
Key Skills / Requirements
  • 10+ years of professional experience within architecture, interior architecture, technical design, or high-end residential interiors
  • Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field
  • A strong architectural background, with experience producing and coordinating highly detailed technical drawing packages
  • Extensive hands-on Construction Administration experience across complex, high-end construction projects
  • Strong experience delivering luxury renovations projects from documentation through to completion
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction and highly bespoke architectural interiors
  • Proven ability to independently manage project workflows and lead coordination across various stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a positive and solutions-focused mentality
  • Thrives in a people focused, supportive and positive workplace
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a genuine enthusiasm for supporting and uplifting the wider team
