Job summary

Integrus Architecture in Portland seeks a Technical Architect to lead the technical development of complex mid- to large-scale projects, translating design concepts into high-performing solutions.

You will mentor teams, ensure code compliance, oversee QA/QC, and coordinate with designers and consultants from design development through construction administration, shaping quality and innovation across the firm. This hybrid role averages four days in the office with one remote day per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• Current architectural licensure (required).
• Minimum of 15+ years of professional architectural experience with expertise in technical design and construction documentation.
• Extensive knowledge of building codes, accessibility, life safety, and construction standards.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM-integrated project delivery.
• Strong interdisciplinary coordination and QA/QC processes.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of complex projects through design, documentation, and construction.
• Serve as a technical authority on building systems, constructability, code compliance, and detailing.
• Champion QA/QC and promote consistency across project teams.
• Guide teams through technical decision-making balancing performance, cost, and schedule.
• Provide expertise on life safety, accessibility, permitting, and approval strategies.
• Collaborate with leadership, designers, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical challenges.
• Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, and field observations.
• Mentor architects and design professionals, elevating standards across the firm.
