Job summary

Altria Client Services is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in Richmond, VA to support technical accounting research, SEC reporting, and external disclosures. The role blends accounting policy application with hands-on analysis and collaboration across finance partners.

You’ll work on complex transactions, support SOX controls, and help drive automation in reporting processes. The position offers a hybrid work model with relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required; CPA preferred.
• 4+ years progressive experience in public accounting; SEC reporting, consolidations, or technical accounting
• Direct hands-on experience preparing or reviewing SEC filings
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Exposure to SOX compliance and disclosure controls
• Experience researching accounting guidance and preparing analyses and memoranda
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across audiences

Responsibilities

• Support technical accounting analyses for business transactions and prepare supporting documentation.
• Assist with the preparation and review of disclosures and footnotes for SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 11-K).
• Collaborate with finance teams and external advisers to gather information and deliver technical accounting deliverables.
• Support assessment of new accounting standards and regulatory developments, including impacts on financial reporting.
• Contribute to SOX and disclosure controls and overall internal control activities.
• Prepare accounting memoranda, analyses, and supporting work papers for review.
• Utilize reporting systems and automation tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure timely delivery of external reporting with strong project management.
• Build relationships across finance to address accounting matters.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance governance.
