Job summary

DigitalOcean in the United States seeks a Senior Technical Accounting Manager to navigate complex, non-routine transactions under U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting. You’ll lead accounting policy, audits, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, and FP&A to ensure accurate disclosures.

You will draft high-quality memos, assess non-routine economics, and oversee impairment analyses while mentoring staff and driving process improvements in a fast-growing cloud company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and an active CPA license.
• 8+ years of progressive technical accounting experience under U.S. GAAP.
• Public company experience with SEC reporting and SOX internal controls.
• Big 4 audit or transaction advisory background strongly preferred.
• Experience leading financing and M&A transactions of meaningful size.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft accounting memos and analyses for management and auditors.
• Operationalize accounting for complex transactions (equity, debt, leases).
• Review material lease transactions and ASC 606 revenue inputs.
• Lead accounting for M&A and strategic investments.
• Perform impairment analyses for goodwill and intangibles.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies reflecting standards.
• Coordinate SOX-compliant processes with cross-functional teams.
• Serve as technical accounting contact during audits and disclosures.
• Prepare executive-level materials and support SEC filings as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and drive automation of controls.
