Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Technical Accounting Manager who thrives on navigating complex, non-routine transactions and implementing new accounting standards. You will lead technical accounting across research, policy development, and SEC reporting, partnering with Finance, Legal and Tax to drive compliant, scalable processes.

In this high-visibility role you’ll mentor staff, craft executive memos, and support quarterly reviews and equity and debt financings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and an active CPA license.
8+ years of progressive technical accounting experience under U.S. GAAP, including financing arrangements, derivatives, and business combinations.
Public company experience with SEC reporting and SOX internal controls.
Big 4 experience preferred or equivalent in-house technical accounting role at a high-growth tech company.

Responsibilities

Draft high-quality accounting memos and analyses for management and auditors on complex topics.
Evaluate and operationalize accounting for non-routine transactions, including equity offerings and convertible debt.
Review material lease transactions and revenue arrangements with cross-functional partners.
Lead accounting for M&A transactions and strategic investments; perform impairment analyses.
