Job summary

Finlays Solutions is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to lead IFRS lease accounting, fixed asset management, and technical accounting research. You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, and Finance to monitor capital projects, ensure capitalization of assets, and support a strong control environment.

Qualifications

Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong IFRS financial reporting experience.
Significant experience with IFRS 16 lease accounting.
Extensive fixed asset accounting and capital project experience.
Experience managing construction-in-progress and capitalization processes.
Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting audits.
Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or asset-intensive environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as the subject matter expert on IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.
Research, interpret, and document accounting conclusions for complex transactions and business initiatives.
Prepare technical accounting memorandums and policy documentation.
Support the implementation of new accounting standards and accounting policies.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to finance and business stakeholders.
Play a major role in period close.
