Ingenium Talent seeks a detail-oriented Accountant to own lease accounting and fixed asset accounting across a large multi-unit portfolio. You will manage monthly close, maintain schedules, reconcile lease and asset ledgers, and partner with AP, operations, and finance to improve controls and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead lease and fixed asset accounting for a large multi-unit portfolio.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries; reconcile lease and fixed asset accounts.
  • Coordinate and review monthly rent obligations; support CAM reconciliations.
  • Maintain the fixed asset subledger; record additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and retirements.
  • Calculate and record monthly depreciation; assist CAPEX reporting.
  • Oversee property tax compliance and related entries.
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and assist general accounting activities.
  • Collaborate with AP, accounting, and operations to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and strengthen controls.

Our client, a growing multi-brand organization is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to take ownership of lease accounting and fixed asset accounting across a large, multi‑unit portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys becoming a subject‑matter expert while gaining visibility and expanding into broader corporate accounting responsibilities over time.

About the Role

In this position, you will manage key accounting processes that directly impact financial accuracy and operational performance. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams, maintain critical accounting schedules, and support monthly close activities. This role offers meaningful ownership, process improvement opportunities, and long‑term growth within corporate accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead lease accounting, including maintaining lease data, preparing monthly journal entries, and reconciling lease‑related accounts.
  • Review lease agreements, amendments, renewals, and terminations to ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Coordinate and review monthly rent obligations; investigate discrepancies and support CAM reconciliations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for landlords regarding reporting and annual reconciliations.
  • Maintain the fixed asset subledger; record additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and retirements.
  • Calculate and record monthly depreciation; reconcile fixed asset accounts and support CAPEX reporting.
  • Oversee personal property tax compliance and related accounting entries.
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and support general accounting activities.
  • Partner with AP, accounting, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes, strengthen controls, and enhance reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required;
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in multi‑unit retail, restaurant, real estate, or franchise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and fixed asset/depreciation rules.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Dynamics 365 or EZ Lease is a plus.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
