Job summary

North American Rail Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Lease, Fixed Asset & Equipment Accountant at our Fort Worth headquarters to own the full accounting lifecycle for the fleet and lease obligations under ASC 842.

You will supervise asset records across 45+ locations, partner with operations teams, and support monthly close, depreciation, and lease disclosures while ensuring GAAP compliance and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years progressive accounting with fixed asset/lease exposure.
• Working knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data modeling).
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register across locations.
• Coordinate with shop, fleet, and field teams to tag and track assets.
• Monitor equipment usage and resolve discrepancies between field activity and records.
• Prepare depreciation and lease activity journal entries monthly.
• Prepare lease disclosures and supporting schedules for reporting.
• Support budgeting and forecasts for depreciation expense.
