Job summary

Very Good Security (VGS) is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Recruiter to own full-cycle recruiting for a portfolio of technical roles within our rapidly growing engineering organization. This contract role focuses on identifying, engaging, and closing exceptional talent in a fast-paced startup environment.

Ideal candidates will have deep sourcing skills and a track record of partnering with engineering leaders, with strong autonomy and a proactive approach to pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a strong focus on technical/engineering hiring.
• Proven experience recruiting for Software Engineering, Infrastructure, SRE, Platform Engineering, or other highly technical positions.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup, high-growth technology company, or similarly dynamic environment is required.
• Strong sourcing skills and demonstrated ability to identify and engage passive technical talent.
• Comfortable independently managing multiple searches at different stages.
• Strong hiring manager partnership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to move quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and operate with limited oversight.
• Excellent communication, organization, and candidate management skills.
• Experience with tokenization, payment processing, or security products.
• BA/BS degree.
• A knack for out-of-the-box thinking that thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience with Lever is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of technical roles end-to-end and partner closely with hiring managers to identify, engage, and close exceptional talent.
• Operate with a high level of ownership and autonomy in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Own full-cycle recruiting across multiple technical roles, from kickoff and sourcing through offer and close.
• Partner with Engineering leaders and hiring managers to define profiles, develop recruiting strategies, and keep searches moving.
• Proactively source and engage highly qualified passive technical talent.
• Conduct recruiter screens and effectively assess both technical alignment and overall fit.
• Manage multiple searches and competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Create a strong candidate experience throughout the entire interview process.
• Use recruiting data and funnel metrics to identify challenges and adjust search strategies.
• Maintain accurate candidate and requisition data within our ATS.
• Help improve recruiting processes, interview practices, and hiring efficiency as we scale.
