V Talent in the United States is seeking a Contract Technical Recruiter to manage full-cycle searches for engineering, marketing, and sales roles for startup clients. You will work directly with founders and hiring teams, shaping hiring strategies and delivering exceptional candidate experiences.

This remote, project-based role offers 20–30 hours per week with potential to extend, plus ownership of searches, data reporting, and negotiation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recruiting experience, ideally in-house with prior startup recruiting experience.
• 2+ years of technical recruiting experience, ideally with an understanding of niche engineering domains.
• Ability to manage multiple roles across functions.
• Experience partnering with senior leadership on key business searches.
• Excellent communication skills and polish; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, organized candidate data across platforms (Gem, Google Drive, client ATSs).
• Lead client update calls and recruiting strategy discussions; prepare recruitment data reports to track progress.
• Lead offer negotiation and closing.
• Approach all searches with strategic ownership and execution.

We specialize in working with tech startups via retained search and embedded partnership, a lot of which are deep tech companies- ie, the kind that are building category-defining software and hardware products- and we pride ourselves on delivering both strategic insight and white-glove recruiting execution.

The Role

We’re looking for a highly-motivated Contract Technical Recruiter who can step in as an extension of our team to support our growing client base. You’ll be client-facing and candidate-facing, managing full-cycle recruiting for high-impact searches for our clients.

What You’ll Do

• Partner directly with founders, hiring managers, and internal people teams to understand roles and shape hiring strategies end to end

• Lead client update calls and recruiting strategy discussions, and p repare recruitment data reports to track progress

• Approach all searches with a strategic mindset, ownership, and strong execution

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of recruiting experience, ideally in-house with prior startup recruiting experience
• 2+ years of technical recruiting experience, ideally with an understanding of niche engineering domains
• Ability to manage multiple roles across functions- ie, you can jump from a ML Engineer search to a Product Marketing Manager
• Prior experience partnering with senior leadership on key business searches
• Excellent communication skills and polish
• Excellent organization skills with a very strong attention to detail and a high bar for quality
• A 'get-stuff-done' mentality, all about execution
• Remote role with hourly pay or a monthly stipend, and potential for incentive
• 3-6 month project-based engagements tied to clients with the potential to extend
• Approx. 20–30 hours/week, with potential to grow to full-time
