Job summary

ICANN seeks a Sr. Technical Lead to provide senior technical leadership for a team building and operating advanced monitoring and validation services for registry and registrar compliance.

You will guide architecture across distributed microservices, ensure secure, scalable systems, and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on in Java/Spring Boot and Python. You will collaborate with product and policy teams, drive best practices, and lead security reviews, threat modeling, and deployment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years in software engineering with distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience with registry/registrar domains and Internet infrastructure is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for a software team building monitoring and validation services.
• Architect and review distributed and microservices systems for scalability, resiliency, and security.
• Lead development of services interacting with Internet protocols (EPP, RDAP, HTTPS, TLS).
• Mentor engineers, enforce best practices, and contribute to roadmaps and debt management.
• Engage in threat modeling, architectural discussions, and operational readiness.
