Job summary

ICANN in Los Angeles seeks a Sr. Director of Infrastructure to lead strategy, design, and operations of on-prem, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and scalability of systems supporting ICANN’s workforce, community, and applications.

This leader will drive IaC, maintain version-controlled changes via peer-reviewed pull requests, and implement modern engineering practices—automation first, observability, and clear ownership aligned with ICANN’s mission.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, incl. 5+ years in a senior infra role.
• Experience managing enterprise infrastructure, data centers, and cloud services.
• Fluency in English; TOGAF/ITIL certifications are a plus.
• Proven ability to run infra teams as engineering organizations with IaC.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic direction for on-prem, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure.
• Oversee data centers, networks, storage, DR, databases and end-user tech.
• Drive IaC adoption, version-control governance, and pull-request processes.
• Partner with senior executives to deliver scalable, resilient tech solutions.
• Manage IT operations, service delivery, SLAs/SLOs, and incident management.
• Establish security, compliance, and risk management in line with audits.
• Oversee budgets and vendor relationships for infrastructure projects.
