Job summary

Megaport seeks an experienced senior technology lawyer to join our global Legal team, focusing on complex commercial arrangements and high-priority initiatives within our compute division.

Reporting to the CLO and collaborating with leadership, you will shape commercial structures, manage risk, and drive deals with major enterprise customers, hyperscalers, and strategic partners worldwide.

Qualifications

• Significant post-qualification experience as a lawyer, ideally in-house in tech, data centre, cloud, telecom, infrastructure or SaaS.
• Admission and good standing in at least one US jurisdiction.
• Experience leading complex, high-value commercial transactions with sophisticated counterparties.
• Strong technology transactions experience and ability to understand underlying commercial/technical models.

Responsibilities

• Support complex and strategic transactions for data centre procurement and customer agreements.
• Partner with the Chief Legal Officer, executive leadership and senior stakeholders.
• Advise on legal/commercial structures of strategic partnerships across cloud, networking, data centres, infrastructure, compute, storage, software and services.
• Lead negotiations with global tech companies, cloud providers, partners and major customers.
• Advise on technology, data, privacy, IP, cybersecurity and regulatory issues in transactions.
• Support strategic initiatives and confidential projects for the CLO and leadership.
• Act as a trusted senior member of the Legal team and mentor colleagues.
• Provide coverage to the global legal team during busy periods.
• Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and improve contracting processes.
