Job summary

KPMG LLP is currently seeking a Senior Manager to join our Business Tax Services practice in Chicago. You will build and manage client relationships across a portfolio of large clients, acting as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders while leading tax professionals and assistants.

The role requires at least eight years of tax experience in a public accounting or related setting, a bachelor’s in accounting, and CPA/EA/JD/JLM credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of recent tax experience in a public accounting firm, corporation or asset management firm.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA/EA/JD/LLM or equivalent credentials required with time to obtain if not held at start.
• Experience with alternative investments and taxation of corporations, partnerships and other flow-through entities.
• Strong verbal and written communication, and ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage client relationships while managing a portfolio of large clients and act as a first point of contact for internal and external clients
• Manage relationships at a senior level with large clients, advise on tactical issues, oversee service delivery, and lead tax teams
• Handle risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing and budget for projects
• Assess tax impact on clients, develop tax arguments, and recommend actions
• Participate in external market activities and mentor tax professionals
