Job summary

EY is seeking a senior leader to head tax operations within the EY EDGE practice. This role focuses on US and global tax information reporting across financial services, coordinating a cross-functional team to deliver accurate, timely filings and improved processes.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in operational delivery, CPA/EA or attorney credentials, and strong leadership and communication skills. A hybrid work model and comprehensive rewards are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Tax, Law, or Economics.
• 8+ years of operational delivery experience.
• CPA, EA, or licensed attorney.
• Ability to prioritize, handle and track multiple assignments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong data analysis capabilities.
• Ability to draft/design business requirements, process flow diagrams and rules matrices.
• Change management, operations and process improvement experience.
• Ability to identify improvement opportunities and actively engage in implementing improvements.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and proven skills in developing employees.
• Strong oral and written communication as well as presentation skills.
• Exceptionally strong organization, process and people management skills.
• Excellent trouble shooting, execution and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Proficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point, Proficiency in tax accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the tax operations team and manage data preparation, aggregation, reporting and filings.
• Supervise day-to-day interactions with clients and monitor KPIs by work stream.
• Drive delivery to meet deadlines and client expectations, developing internal team members.
• Manage engagement economics and escalation/resolution processes.
• Oversee operations and provide visibility to leadership on status and issues.
• Ensure standardized processes for all tax operations and coordinate training.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation of processes.
• Evidence performance and introduce efficiencies via KPIs for management.
• Manage service quality and engagement risk.
• Understand business financials to ensure budget adherence.
• Leverage standard technologies to improve efficiency and deliverables.
• Coach and develop tax professionals and lead performance reviews.
• Travel 20% or less.
