Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Senior Tax Manager in the United States to provide tax and consulting services focused on pass-through entities and their business owners. You will lead tax planning, preparation and research for entities like S-corps, LLCs and partnerships, and oversee engagements and staff.

The role emphasizes client service, tax knowledge, and collaboration with managers and partners, with a focus on compliance and strategy development for high net worth clients.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience.
• CPA certification, Attorney or ENrolled Agent (EA) required.
• Ability to supervise and review staff and manage client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Performs tax planning, preparation and research for pass-through entities (S-corps, LLCs, Partnerships) and the business owners' individual returns, which may include estates, trusts and charitable entities.
• Manages client engagements, supervises and reviews work of team staff members, work closely with clients as well as internal managers and partners
• Contributes to client satisfaction by providing timely services and work product
• Demonstrates an understanding of tax concepts and actively pursuing increased tax knowledge through client assignments and current tax developments
• Tax Compliance: ensures clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens; manages timing, billing and AR
• Research: identifies when research is needed and performs it; frames issues and reports analysis
• Strategy Development: develops new ideas to improve client or firm position; reviews studies and leverages lessons learned
• Other duties as required
• Supervisory Responsibilities: build a team, supervise associates, provide feedback, train staff, and manage workload and career development
• Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: detailed orientation, strong communication, independence, delegation, analytical skills, client relationship management
• License/Certifications: CPA/Attorney/EA required
