Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Core Tax Services Senior Manager to advise clients on tax implications of business objections, optimize tax burden, and lead complex tax issues. This role requires deep ASC 740 knowledge, strong leadership, and a client-focused mindset to drive strategy, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.

The position involves leadership within the office/region, marketing and business development, and maintaining strong client relationships across a Tax Services practice area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics preferred.
• Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
• CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) required.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively delegate work and lead teams of tax professionals.
• Experience with ASC 740, FIN 48, and tax compliance processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advises clients on tax implications of business objections and evaluates actions to reduce tax burden and cost of compliance.
• Acts as primary client contact for complex tax issues and coordinates with firm specialists.
• Reviews tax provisions and guidance on ASC 740; prepares or reviews workpapers and tax analyses.
• Leads strategy development, tax planning, and client service plans; develops and mentors staff.
• Trains staff on research skills and helps frame tax issues for analysis.
