Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex business and individual tax engagements.
• Proven ability to lead client relationships and serve as a trusted business advisor.
• Strong business development experience, including identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and contributing to new client acquisition.
• Demonstrated success supervising, motivating, developing, and retaining professional staff.
• Excellent financial, analytical, technical, project-management, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance and planning considerations.
• Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and client-service communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple engagements while maintaining high standards of quality and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of high-quality tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for a diverse client portfolio.
• Review complex federal, state, and local returns and related workpapers.
• Serve as trusted advisor by understanding business objectives and recommending Blue & Co. services.
• Build and maintain relationships with client executives, owners, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage multiple engagements, including planning, staffing, budgets, timelines, and profitability.
• Drive growth through proactive client service, strategic guidance, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Support business development, relationship building, proposal support, networking, and new service opportunities.
• Demonstrate a track record of professional-services business development and long-lasting client relationships.
• Supervise, coach, train, evaluate, and mentor Managers, Seniors, and Staff Accountants.
• Promote a collaborative culture of teamwork, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
• Support ongoing development of tax professionals through coaching and training.
• Stay current on tax law changes, industry developments, and professional standards.
