Gilder Search Group in Cincinnati is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Tax Manager who is ready to expand beyond compliance into leadership, client advisory, practice growth, and long‑term career advancement.

You'll lead complex engagements for privately held businesses, mentor teams, and partner with Directors and Principals while helping grow a nationally respected tax practice with hybrid work flexibility.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• Approximately 5–8+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local taxation.
• Experience managing corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax engagements.
• Proven ability to coach and develop professionals.
• Exceptional communication and client relationship skills.
• Desire to participate in practice growth and leadership.
• Commitment to continuous learning and embracing emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tax tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex client engagements from planning through delivery across corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax, ensuring technical excellence and client service.
• Develop high-performing teams by mentoring Senior Associates, Staff, and Interns in a collaborative, accountability-driven environment.
• Become a trusted advisor by providing proactive planning, practical recommendations, and long-term strategic guidance to business owners.
• Strengthen the practice by improving engagement profitability, identifying new opportunities, and supporting firm growth initiatives.
