Job summary

Empirical Wealth Management, LLC in Bellevue, WA seeks a Senior Tax Associate to join our tax practice. This role focuses on technical tax work, collaborative planning, and direct involvement in delivering high-quality service to clients.

You will lead initial tax preparation, review returns, mentor junior staff, perform tax projections, respond to notices, and support advisory and client meetings with strong research and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of public accounting experience with a taxation focus.
• CPA eligible or JD required; Master’s in taxation preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and projects.
• Proficiency in tax software and research tools listed above.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Willingness to be part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial tax preparation support, including information gathering and data entry.
• Review returns and projects prepared by Tax Associates and interns.
• Mentor junior team members and assist in training.
• Prepare tax projections and provide proactive planning recommendations.
• Prepare responses to IRS and state notices and correspondence.
• Collaborate with advisory team on planning matters and client service.
• Communicate with clients by phone and email; participate in meetings.
• Conduct tax research and support technical projects.
