Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare complete returns and interview clients in person at a local Block Advisors office. You will build lasting client relationships, uncover savings opportunities, and provide expert guidance on complex tax situations.

You’ll support clients with IRS matters, audits, and tax notices while leveraging industry-leading training and technology and earning a competitive hourly rate with incentive opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain tax concepts to clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications, then provide clear recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive client-focused office environment.
