H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare accurate tax returns for diverse clients and offer personalized recommendations. This in-person role emphasizes client interviews, tax planning, and building lasting relationships within a local Block Advisors office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to explain tax concepts.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications
• Build trusted, year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
