Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, conduct in-depth client interviews, and deliver personalized recommendations. This in-person role focuses on building lasting client relationships and identifying tax savings opportunities while leveraging industry-leading training and technology.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients
• Build year-round client relationships with empathetic, consultative service
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
