Job description

The City of Lincoln and Lancaster County Human Resources Department is looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to support the full hiring process—from posting jobs and screening applicants to helping facilitate interviews and ensuring fair, timely selections. This role is perfect for someone who has a desire to work with various departments in municipal government, has high level of customer services, and a strong work ethic.

What You’ll Do:

  • Complete intake meetings upon receipt of new job requisitions to create engaging job postings tailored to department needs.

  • Screen applications and verify qualifications.

  • Refer qualified candidates within one week of job closing.

  • Advise departments on interview and selection processes.

  • Ensure documentation, testing, and hiring practices are fair and compliant.

  • Respond to applicant and department questions with professionalism.

  • Collaborate with HR teams on training, onboarding, and special projects.

  • Draft offer letters and maintain organized records in NeoGov.

  • Generate reports and support audits as needed.

Qualifications Include:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, human resource management or related field.

  • Three or more years of experience in the area of recruitment and selection, compensation and classification, benefits administration, or organizational development.

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills will be considered.
