Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Talent Acquisition Recruiter to provide full-cycle recruiting and strategic consulting across the Transmission unit. You will partner with hiring managers, craft targeted postings, and guide candidates from posting to offer.

Emphasis on diversity, proactive sourcing, and relationship-building with internal teams and external groups. The role requires strong negotiation, communication, and ATS experience, with a focus on compliant, efficient recruitment processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related discipline with at least 3 years recruiting experience.
• 4 years of relevant recruiting experience can replace a degree.
• Full-cycle recruiting experience for exempt, professional roles preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to source diverse candidate slates.
• Experience with creative sourcing and resume mining.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with SAP/SuccessFactors/Oracle ATS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Focus on assisting build out Transmission recruiting within the org.
• Consult with hiring managers and develop job postings from duties and qualifications.
• Guide hiring managers through posting to candidate acceptance.
• Ensure diversity across all stages per policy and guidelines.
• Post roles on internal/external career sites and third-party boards.
• Create and execute candidate sourcing strategies, including passive search.
• Partner with EBGRs and external groups to diversify candidate slates.
• Develop knowledge of open positions with subject matter experts.
• Review resumes for skills, experience, education alignment.
• Develop pre-screening questions; manage via SMO ATS.
• Conduct phone screens, interviews, and benefit overviews.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and proper documentation.
• Build networks to source diverse candidates and organizations.
• Represent FirstEnergy with external organizations and events.
• Support College Recruiting and ambassador programs as needed.
• Negotiate offers and terms with candidates; extend offers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
