GDIT is seeking a Systems Specialist to support, maintain, and improve IT systems and infrastructure on-site in Bossier City, LA. You will focus on system administration, troubleshooting, and user support to ensure servers and applications run securely and efficiently.

You will work with help desk, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve issues, implement changes, and support projects. A strong security mindset and experience with AD, virtualization, and cloud services are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience.
• AA/AS education or equivalent.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux server administration.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, group policies, and identity/access management.
• Experience with virtualization platforms and cloud services (Azure, AWS, M365).
• Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, applications, and basic networking.
• Knowledge of backup/restore solutions and disaster recovery concepts.
• Understanding security best practices and patch management.

Responsabilités

• Monitor, manage, and maintain servers, operating systems, and key applications.
• Apply patches, updates, and configuration changes per change management procedures.
• Perform routine system health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues from help desk teams.
• Diagnose and resolve system, application, and network-related problems.
• Install, configure, and deploy new systems, applications, and tools.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure systems adhere to security practices and policies.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, performing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with IT teams on cross-functional initiatives and documentation.
