BAE Systems is excited to offer an opportunity to support a dynamic DOJ program as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE), providing mission-critical support to our federal law enforcement customer. This position is part of a talented technical team responsible for the development, operations, and maintenance of networked systems supporting digital forensic investigations, primarily on Windows and utilizing virtual and cloud environments. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with strong work habits, able to complete tasks independently while working as part of a team, and have demonstrated career experience as an ISSO or ISSE with the Federal ATO process.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement security architectures, designs, and evaluations for applications, systems, and networks to maintain security posture.
2. Ensure compliance with customer policies and federal IA requirements, including documentation such as CMP, IRP, ISCP, and POA&M.
3. Identify IA vulnerabilities and coordinate with teams to address them, including applying patches and updates, and ensuring configuration compliance in cloud and on-premises environments.
4. Prepare SAA packages for system and application authorizations.
5. Participate in CCB meetings, review change requests, and document security decisions.
6. Coordinate incident responses and high-priority compliance issues with the ESOC.
7. Represent program security interests in meetings and coordinate with other ISSOs.
8. Assess current and evolving security threats in operational environments.
9. Work independently under government guidance to fulfill technical requirements promptly.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ten (10) years of experience assessing and documenting system security controls against NIST SP 800-53 and RMF processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Security or related field, or equivalent relevant experience (additional five years).
• Experience working on an Agile team, with federal law enforcement, and familiarity with DevSecOps principles.
• Knowledge of Taclane, encryption devices, and scripting, with experience in Splunk and Tenable preferred.
