Job Description

Space Ground System Solutions (SGSS), a subsidiary of Parsons, has an immediate full-time opening for an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE), working onsite at our customer location in Welcome, MD. The role involves being part of the Blossom Point Information Assurance team responsible for upgrading and maintaining the security posture of all stand-alone and networked environments at Blossom Point. The position requires knowledge of information security accreditation activities, risk assessment tools, disaster recovery, technologies, and methods.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Government in designing and implementing trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
• Assist in security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management.
• Identify security requirements for the proper handling of Government data.
• Interact with the customer and project team members.
• Assist in system or network designs that encompass multiple enclaves with differing data protection/classification requirements.
• Provide security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management recommendations.
• Support the enforcement of security policies and architecture design.
• Help architects and developers implement appropriate security functionalities.
• Contribute to security planning, assessment, risk analysis, certification, and awareness activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Active DoD Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI within one year.
• US citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related field, or four years of relevant ISSE experience as a substitute.
• Experience with STE/STN metrics and reporting systems such as eMASS, XACTA, and JIRA.
• Knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure for secure network and enclave design.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience configuring routers, firewalls, and network appliances for security.
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience developing System Security Plans (SSPs) and leading systems through security approvals.
• Some knowledge of Space Systems, Satellite Ground Systems, or Satellite Operations is preferred.
