Job summary

LTA Research & Exploration seeks a senior Systems Safety Engineer to serve as a principal technical authority within Systems Engineering. You will own the system-level safety, verification, and certification strategy for vehicle programs, guiding MBSE and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver robust architectures.

• Broad mastery across subsystems and disciplines.
• Experience taking systems through certification lifecycle with airworthiness authorities.

Responsibilities

• Innovate system-safety approaches for high-stakes integration and certification.
• Define and own system safety assessment strategy and analyses (FHA, PSSA, FMEA/FMECA, FTA).
• Architect and validate complex system-of-systems architectures and verification strategies.
• Apply MBSE methods to support requirements analysis, design, and interfaces.
• Lead major program architectures and integration, including verification strategy for vehicle programs.
• Mentor and develop Senior engineers and lead cross-disciplinary teams.
