Job summary

LTA Research & Exploration is seeking a senior Systems Safety Engineer to act as a technical authority within Systems Engineering. This principal-level role leads system safety, verification, and certification strategy for complex, multi‑airframe programs and mentors multidisciplinary teams.

You will define architectures, manage certification artifacts, and drive integration across mechanical, electrical, software, and test domains while engaging regulators and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in systems, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering with 8+ years experience.
• Master’s degree with 6+ years experience; PhD with 3+ years experience.
• Experience taking systems through certification with FAA/EASA under ARP4754A.

Responsibilities

• Innovate system-safety approaches for high-stakes integration and certification.
• Conduct and own System Safety Assessments and related analyses (FHA, PSSA, FMEA/FMECA, FTA).
• Architect and validate new system-of-systems approaches with no legacy solution.
• Apply MBSE methods using Cameo/MagicDraw to support requirements and design.
• Lead verification, integration, and airworthiness activities for major programs.
