LTA Research & Exploration seeks a Senior Systems Safety Engineer to act as a technical authority in Systems Engineering. You will own the system-level safety, verification, and certification strategy for aeronautic programs and mentor multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires leading SSA analyses, defining architectures for complex vehicle programs, and shaping integration and certification plans across subsystems. A strong background in MBSE and regulatory interactions is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in systems, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering with 8+ years experience.
• Master’s degree with 6+ years.
• PhD with 3+ years.
• Broad mastery across subsystems and disciplines beyond the candidate's core area.
• Direct aerospace / aircraft systems experience through certification lifecycle with airworthiness authorities.
• Proven experience conducting System Safety Assessments (SSA) and related analyses to ARP4761.
• Expertise in system-of-systems architecture, interface definition, and end-to-end verification.
• Proficiency in MBSE and requirements/verification tool chains (DOORS, Jama, Cameo).

Responsibilities

• Innovate system-safety approaches for high-stakes integration and certification.
• Conduct and own System Safety Assessments (SSA) and FHA/PSSA/FMEA/FTA per ARP4754A/ARP4761.
• Architect and validate complex system-of-systems architectures and verification strategies.
• Apply MBSE using Cameo/MagicDraw to support requirements analysis and interface definition.
• Lead vehicle program architecture, integration, and verification strategies.
• Support system-level certification strategy and basis for airworthiness (ARP4754A).
• Serve as SME during audits/regulatory interactions; own certification artifacts.
• Develop and maintain system certification plans and DO-178C/DO-254/MIL-STD-882 artifacts.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional teams toward milestones.
• Lead partnerships with suppliers, integrators, and regulators.
