Job summary

LTA Research & Exploration seeks a Principal Systems Safety Engineer to act as a technical authority within Systems Engineering, owning system-level safety, verification, and certification for complex air-vehicle programs.

You will mentor senior engineers, lead cross-disciplinary integration, and drive MBSE-based safety analyses (FHA/PSSA/SSA) per ARP4754A/ARP4761, DO-178C/DO-254 as applicable.

Qualifications

• SSA and safety analyses (FHA, PSSA, FMEA/FMECA, FTA) per ARP4761
• Aerospace systems experience through certification lifecycle with FAA/EASA
• MBSE and digital-thread practices across departments
• Proven leadership without formal authority to drive decisions
• Strong communication with regulators, customers, and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Own system safety assessment strategy for vehicle programs
• Conduct SSA and supporting analyses per ARP4754A/ARP4761
• Architect and validate system-of-systems integration approaches and program standards
• Apply MBSE tools (DOORS, Jama, Cameo/MagicDraw) in development activities
• Define certification basis and lead verification and compliance activities
• Mentor senior engineers and lead cross-disciplinary teams
• Coordinate certification deliverables with suppliers and regulators
