Job summary
The Fountain Group is seeking a Senior Systems Support Engineer for a prominent client in Pleasanton, CA. This onsite role focuses on installation, qualification, and maintenance of instruments and software, with a strong emphasis on networking infrastructure, including Fortigate firewall configuration and IP addressing.

Qualifications
- Associates degree required.
- 5+ years of experience servicing medical/lab equipment and/or supporting networked systems in an R&D, hospital, or clinical laboratory setting.
- Direct experience configuring and troubleshooting Fortigate (or similar) firewall/network security appliances.
- Industry networking certification preferred (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, or Cisco CCNA).
- Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, firewall rules) and applying them to troubleshoot instrument connectivity issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and instrument IOs/PMs.
- Troubleshoot, replace parts, and repair instruments.
- Install/deinstall/relocate instruments and control units.
- Configure system and application software.
- Establish and troubleshoot remote connections to instruments and provide IT networking support.
