Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. seeks a Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team of about 12 engineers at the Advanced Technologies Office in Lynchburg, VA. The role emphasizes on-site leadership, collaboration with chief engineers, and MBSE-driven system architecture development.

You will develop requirements, interfaces, and V&V plans, while guiding staff development, risk mitigation, and program execution. Relocation benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctor of Science in engineering, physics, chemistry or mathematics is required.
• Experience mentoring, coaching and leading teams (5+ years).
• Knowledge of MBSE and systems engineering processes.
• Familiarity with DoD/DOE/NASA specifications and hardware test/verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ~12 Systems Engineers and oversee department growth and structure.
• Develop and maintain product and system requirements; define interfaces.
• Create verification and validation plans; manage risk and milestones.
• Staff planning and resource management; mentor and develop staff.
• Ensure ongoing risk management and issue resolution across programs.
