Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Modeling & Simulation (ModSim) team in Rolling Meadows, IL. The role blends people leadership (10–15 engineers) with hands-on technical work across Mission Survivability Systems projects.

You will drive staffing, project schedules, and technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) while advancing MBSE and Agile methods. U.S. citizenship and Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering or technical discipline with 8+ years’ experience, or Master’s with 6+ years’ experience.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• High proficiency in technical problem solving (decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of engineers on multiple initiatives, including follow-on contracts and new business growth opportunities.
• Guide SEIT processes and manage cost, schedule, and technical quality for SEIT execution and major milestones.
• Lead staffing, mentoring, and performance review processes; collaborate with talent acquisition.
• Support MBSE, PLA, and Agile implementation initiatives.
