Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager Level 2, Mission Modeling Simulation, in Chandler, AZ. The role blends technical modeling with team leadership for missiles/interceptors, operating 85% technically and 15% as a homeroom manager on site.

You will design physics-based models, create mission scenarios, and perform quantitative analyses to support requirements and design trades, collaborating across functions.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Active US Government Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years in modeling/simulation; or advanced degree with fewer years.
• Management experience and familiarity with Northrop Grumman ProP.
• Deep knowledge of Systems Engineering principles.
• Proven record leading cross-functional teams in engineering.
• Experience in defense-system modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with operations analysis/virtual simulation tools.
• Strong background in probability, statistics, and design of experiments.
• Excellent communication with senior leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a section of Systems Modeling Simulation engineers (8-15 people).
• Hire, develop, train, and retain section talent.
• Provide leadership, performance reviews, mentoring, and engagement strategies.
• Oversee day-to-day section operations, resource balancing, and issue resolution.
• Promote professional development and an inclusive, collaborative culture.
• Provide clear assignments and connect team work to higher-level goals.
• Develop mission- and system-level performance models and simulations.
• Perform analyses for requirements, design trades, and verification.
• Document methods and results for project review and stakeholders.
