Job summary

Aergility in Dunnellon, FL, is seeking a mid-career Systems Engineer to serve as technical integrator across UAV product lines. You will bridge vehicle design, mission systems, and hardware integration, translating requirements into hardware, tracking progress, and supporting the engineering team as we scale toward production.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7–15 years of systems engineering experience, with at least 5 years on hardware development programs.
• Ability to lead system integration across mechanical, electrical, software, and avionics teams.
• Experience managing schedules, technical risk, and stakeholder communication on mid-to-large programs.
• Comfort presenting at PDR/CDR/TRR and interfacing with government customers or primes.
• Direct UAV development experience, including ground tests, envelope expansion, and flight testing.
• Familiar with UAV test planning docs: test plans, procedures, success criteria, anomalies.
• U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the Verification & Validation (V&V) plan; define test methods, success criteria, and traceability across vehicle and payload subsystems.
• Create, mature, and maintain process and product documentation and configuration management as architecture evolves.
• Lead integration planning and support software- and hardware-in-the-loop testing; author test plans, procedures, and anomaly reports.
• Perform trade studies to inform design decisions across propulsion, avionics, autonomy, structures, and payloads; document rationale.
• Lead or contribute to MBSE efforts; develop and maintain system architecture models and interface definitions.
• Maintain a program-level technical risk register; facilitate risk reviews and drive mitigation.
• Conduct FMEA and hazard analyses per MIL-STD-882 or equivalent.
