Job summary

AeroVironment seeks an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to lead MBSE across the full V-model, working with multidisciplinary teams to develop and verify system architectures and requirements.

You will contribute to requirement traceability, interfaces, and key system analyses, supporting design reviews and customer engagements. A DoD clearance or eligibility is required, with travel up to 10% for reviews and integrations.

Qualifications

• MBSE using SysML v1.x and related modeling tools.
• US DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain) required.
• 5+ years in architecting and supporting complex defense/aerospace systems.
• Experience with requirements management tools, preferably Jama.
• Experience creating ICDs, architecture diagrams, CONOPS, trade studies.

Responsibilities

• Perform MBSE across the full V-model, including requirements decomposition and validation planning.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and integration teams on architectures and requirements.
• Develop system, subsystem, and component requirements with traceability; support interfaces and ICDs.
• Conduct system trade studies (performance, cost, schedule, risk) and validation planning.
• Assist in customer discussions and participate in design reviews.
